The Bay Babes are a group of women ranging in age from 50 to 100 who have jokingly nicknamed themselves as such because they gather every day on a bay beach in Fire Island. Yet this simple, daily act of meeting and swimming with friends, some of whom have known each other for 60-plus years, has enriched their lives in unexpected ways.
